This workshop is designed for writers and aspiring writers who want to record their food story, collecting their favourite recipes in one place.

It is also for the dreamers, poets and journal writers who like to play with words and ideas.

​
Barbara Sweeney is a visually evocative food writer who has written stories about chefs, restaurants, farmers, food producers and everyday cooks, with her words recorded in publications including Country Style and The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food. 
 
A natural teacher, Barbara’s food writing workshops are both playful and challenging. She believes we all have a story to tell, guiding students through their hesitations and procrastination to writing freely and joyously.

​​A practising artist and teacher for the past forty years, Gillian will return to Coolah Creek in 2025 for the fourth time. Every year we look forward to hosting Gillian and her students (new and returning) in the Coolah Creek garden for three days of learning and creating. 

​

Gillian is a beautifully talented and intuitive artist with an incredible knack for teaching. If you are a beginner looking to invest time in a new skill, or you would like to brush up on your painting skills this workshop caters for all skill levels and aspirations.

Julianne's 2025 workshop with Coolah Creek will see guests embark on a tour of the Central West via Binnaway, Bilby Blooms and the Coolah Tops National Park on route to the Coolah Creek Homestead. The road trip from Sydney will allow guests to gather inspiration and experiences to take into the four day workshop.
​
The surrounding flora and fauna inspire Julianne's beautiful subject matter. What better place to be inspired, paint and learn from one of Australia's most talented watercolour artists than in the beautiful Coolah Valley.
 
A talented artist and teacher, Julianne has earned due recognition throughout her career, including three finalist positions in the Wynne Prize, winner of the 2022 Trustees Watercolour Prize and a finalist position in the Archibald Prize.

Melbourne cup charity lunch

The full race card includes a long lunch set amongst the spring garden, the annual Melbourne Cup sweep, a raffle filled with local goodies, fashions on the fields, champagne, Pimms, a special day out with the girls and of course, dessert. With  four thousand dollars already raised across our 2023 and 2024 events for Coolah's local Country Education Foundation branch, the 2025 event will again be in support of our communities’ future generation, their education and aspirations. Cheese making workshops

Deb Kiem is the dynamo behind Blue Sky Cheese in Mendooran. These workshops are designed to be booked out by a group, with cheese making taught by Deb and lunch and location hosted by Jillie at Coolah Creek. Deb will led your group through the making of your predetermined cheese of choice, Jillie will provide lunch in the garden and you and your group will return home with your homemade cheese and a new skill in tow.

​To book a cheese making day with your group please enquire below. We require a minimum three month notice period in order to confirm availability.

Although flexible, we generally require a minimum of eight guests per group.

Having a nourished life is not rocket science, but sometimes in the business of the everyday, it can feel like it. What Mon's Moore Nourished Life workshop offers is an opportunity to reset. Gather with like-minded humans share knowledge, learn and connect - providing a space for solutions based progress. The day (and if you can squeeze in an overnight stay) will feature bush walks, meditation, restorative yoga, breath work sessions, lessons with Mon and nourishing meals.

 

A note from Mon: My focus is on the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of women in midlife. How do we manage ourselves moving into midlife and beyond? I help you build the scaffolding and find practical tools that are relevant for you. Leave with actionable strategies so you are empowered and confident to look after the whole of you.
